Bhopal : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav hoisted the national flag at the State-level Independence Day ceremony at the Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal on the occasion of the country’s 80th Independence Day. The ceremony began with the rendition of the National Song Vande Mataram. After the flag hoisting, the National Anthem Jana Gana Mana was played. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inspected the parade and took the salute. During the parade, the armed contingents fired a ceremonial gun salute, while the Police Band played Jana Gana Mana and patriotic tunes, filling the atmosphere with a spirit of patriotism and dedication. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav extended his heartfelt Independence Day greetings and best wishes to the people of Madhya Pradesh and addressed the State.
CM Dr. Yadav Pays Tribute to Sacrifice and Dedication of Freedom Fighters
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, addressing the people of Madhya Pradesh, first paid his respects to the martyrs of the freedom struggle. He said that countless brave sons and daughters of Madhya Pradesh, from Rani Durgavati, Rani Avantibai, Maharaja Chhatrasal and Tantya Mama Bhil to Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad, made the supreme sacrifice during the freedom struggle. He said the grateful people of Madhya Pradesh pay their homage to all of them.
Uniform Civil Code Will Liberate Women from Oppression and Injustice
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that India is a land of equality, harmony and equal regard for all. From Lord Shri Ram and Lord Shri Krishna to saints and great personalities, everyone has propagated the message of equality. In keeping with the Constitution’s core spirit, Madhya Pradesh is implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) as a historic step. He said, “We are implementing one common law for all by translating the vision of ‘One Nation, One Constitution, One Head, One Flag’ into reality.” The Uniform Civil Code will eliminate discriminatory practices and promote harmony. It will also liberate women from oppression and injustice. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the State would celebrate the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj from August 18.
Jan Vishwas Abhiyan Launched with the Goal of ‘No Delay, No Distance’
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that his government is committed to the welfare of the poor and disadvantaged. Along with ensuring the welfare of all sections of society, the State is progressing rapidly on the path of development. He said that people’s trust in the system is the first step towards good governance. If public welfare is the goal, public trust and public dialogue are the means. With this objective, the State Government launched the Chief Minister Jan Vishwas Abhiyan on August 7 with the goal of “No Delay, No Distance”. The first phase of the campaign will continue until January 8.
17 Religious and Cultural ‘Lok’ Being Developed Across the State
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Bhojshala established by Raja Bhoj remained one of the most prominent centres of knowledge, science, research and Sanskrit for centuries. The State Government will develop a grand Saraswati Lok at Bhojshala and establish the Raja Bhoj Institute there. With the objective of promoting Madhya Pradesh’s cultural and spiritual heritage, 17 religious and cultural ‘Lok’ are being developed across the State. Development works worth ₹2,400 crore are underway at the Ekatma Dham complex. The development of the Shri Ram Van Gaman Path and Shri Krishna Patheya will give the State’s spiritual heritage a new identity on the global stage and connect future generations with their heritage.
2027 to Be Dedicated to Youth Welfare; Over One Lakh Youth to Receive ITI Training
Making a major announcement for the youth, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that 2027 will be dedicated to youth welfare. Quality education, skill development, entrepreneurship and self-employment, employment, start-ups, sports, art, culture and leadership development have been identified as seven key pillars for youth development. By next year, more than one lakh youth will be provided ITI training, while 10,000 youth will receive skill-based training every year at the Global Skills Park.
Focus on Start-ups and New Industries
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that 8,000 start-ups are currently operating in the State. The target is to increase this number to over 12,000 and establish 100 new incubation centres. Keeping the needs of the younger generation in mind, the participation of MSMEs will be increased in emerging sectors such as drones, semiconductors, AI, SpaceTech and green manufacturing. He said that a decision has also been taken to establish four fast-track courts in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur for speedy disposal of court cases related to competitive examinations.
Youth Who Drop Out After Class 10 to Be Empowered with Skills
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that over the next two and a half years, the State Government will focus particularly on youth who, for various reasons, could not pass the Class 10 examination or dropped out of education after Class 10. He said these youth would be equipped with skills to enable them to secure employment not only within the State but also across the country and abroad.
State Government to Honour Digital Content Creators
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the era of Artificial Intelligence, Madhya Pradesh, inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, is rapidly moving towards the Orange Economy. This includes multimedia, gaming, art, media, entertainment, culture, spirituality and other creative activities. The State Government has also decided to honour digital content creators who contribute to guiding society in various categories.
Global Investors Summit to Be Held Again in Bhopal in 2027
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Global Investors Summit will be organised in Bhopal in 2027 to accelerate industrial development. He said that Madhya Pradesh has received investment proposals worth more than ₹34 lakh crore across various sectors over the past two and a half years. The proposals worth more than ₹10 lakh crore have already been grounded. In the technology sector alone, investments worth more than ₹12,000 crore have been grounded in the State.
Target to Make Every District an Export Hub
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that a decision has been taken to work towards making all 55 districts of Madhya Pradesh export hubs. Export action plans for all districts are being prepared.
Under the vision of ‘Vocal for Local, Local Goes Global’, emphasis is being laid on taking products from Madhya Pradesh to global markets. He said the State Government’s vision is to establish one MSME Park in every district. In addition, 10 MSME clusters will be developed across the State. A new centre for the engineering sector is being established in Bhopal at a cost of ₹30 crore. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that various industrial policies formulated by the Madhya Pradesh Government have been recognised by NITI Aayog among the most investment-friendly policies in the country.
1,000 More Doctors to Be Recruited in Next Six Months; Healthcare to Go Digital
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced that diagnostic services for patients will be made paperless from November 1, 2026. Patients’ diagnostic and health-related information will be securely maintained in digital form, and online consultations with specialist doctors will also be made available. To address the shortage of doctors, 1,000 more doctors will be recruited in the next six months. He said new medical colleges are being opened continuously to provide better healthcare services across the State. A decision has also been taken to establish another medical university to provide students with high-quality education, taking the total number of medical universities in the State to two. Similarly, construction of eight new Ayurvedic colleges has already begun, while work on the ninth will commence soon.
State to Establish Advanced Cyber Security Research Centre
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that more than 14,704 candidates have been selected for the Police Department over the past two and a half years, while the recruitment process for 9,751 additional posts is underway. An advanced Cyber Security Research Centre will be established to strengthen the prevention, control and investigation of cyber crimes.
One Stadium to Be Built in Every Assembly Constituency
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Shakti Yojana, the target is to construct one stadium in every Assembly constituency to promote sporting talent. Referring to the achievements of players from Madhya Pradesh at the international level, including the recent Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026, he congratulated the medal winners. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh women’s cricketer Smt. Kranti Gaur has become the first woman cricketer in the world to have her name inscribed on the Honours Board at Lord’s Cricket Ground in England.
Farmers to Get Four Times Compensation
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the State Government has decided to provide farmers four times the compensation for acquisition of agricultural land. The year 2026 is being observed as ‘Krishak Kalyan Varsh’. Farmers are being provided the benefits of various schemes covering fertilisers and seeds, electricity, irrigation, procurement at support prices, Bhavantar, crop insurance, relief and the Kisan Samman Nidhi. More than ₹3 lakh crore has been transferred to farmers’ bank accounts through various schemes over the past two and a half years.
Metropolitan Regions Planned for Bhopal and Indore; Jabalpur and Gwalior to Follow
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that a decision has been taken to develop Metropolitan Regions for the planned and integrated development of Bhopal and Indore. The focus will be on connectivity, logistics and environmentally sustainable infrastructure. Jabalpur and Gwalior will also be developed on similar lines in the future. He said that, with the objective of achieving public welfare through public works, more than 15,000 km of roads have been constructed, upgraded and strengthened in the State during the past two and a half years at a cost of around ₹23,000 crore. The foundation stones for the Indore-Ujjain Corridor, Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor and Ujjain-Jaora Highway have been laid. Ring Road projects are underway in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior and Ujjain and are targeted for completion by 2028.
Plan to Increase Green Energy Share to 50%
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the target is to make Madhya Pradesh a new power centre for renewable energy. Work is underway to increase the share of green energy in the State’s power capacity from 30% to 50%. Inspired by Prime Minister Shri Modi’s call to harness energy from the sun, the State is generating power not only from the sun but also from water and over water. Solar-plus-energy-storage projects are also being developed. The country’s first renewable energy equipment manufacturing zone is being established in Narmadapuram, a solar manufacturing unit in Maksi and a green hydrogen plant in Morena.
Over 550 e-Buses to Begin Operations
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that a decision has been taken to operate more than 550 e-buses in major cities of the State under the PM E-Bus Sewa Yojana. He said that the State has been gifted metro rail services in Indore and Bhopal, which will play a major role in meeting the transportation needs of these rapidly growing cities. The Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Yojana is also being launched soon to transform the road transport system in Madhya Pradesh after several years.
Spiritual Grandeur of Ujjain Simhastha to Astonish the World
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that preparations for Ujjain Simhastha-2028 are underway on a war footing. Keeping the faith and convenience of devotees at the centre, emphasis is being laid on ensuring clean water in the Shipra River and developing other facilities. He said the spiritual grandeur of Ujjain Simhastha would astonish the entire world.
Religious and Cultural Heritage to Receive a New Identity
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that 17 religious and cultural ‘Lok’ are being developed across the State. Development works worth ₹2,400 crore are underway at the Ekatma Dham complex. He said the Government’s efforts to promote religious and spiritual tourism have resulted in a situation where the number of devotees visiting Ujjain in one month is now equal to the number of tourists visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra in one year. More than 14 crore tourists visited Madhya Pradesh last year, respecting the State’s tradition of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’.
Madhya Pradesh Gains International Air Connectivity
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that to give tourism “the height of the sky”, the State has launched PM Shri Paryatan Vayu Seva and PM Shri Paryatan Heli Seva. Air services have commenced on 10 new routes in the State over the past two years. Under the UDAN scheme, Madhya Pradesh is receiving five new airports in the first phase. Direct international air service from Indore to Abu Dhabi has commenced, while the target is to soon start international air service from Bhopal to Sharjah.
BRICS Meetings Give Madhya Pradesh a New Global Identity
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said Madhya Pradesh had the honour of hosting the meeting of BRICS Agriculture Ministers and the BRICS Culture Working Group.
These events have not only given Madhya Pradesh a new prominence on the world map but have also presented a better roadmap for global peace and shared culture.
State’s Per Capita Income Rises by 9%
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the State Government presented a budget of ₹4.38 lakh crore for the financial year 2026-27, which is 10% higher than the previous financial year. The State’s per capita income at current prices increased by 9% compared with the previous year. Madhya Pradesh is the first State in the country to implement the concept of a three-year rolling budget. He said that by adding industry and infrastructure to Prime Minister Shri Modi’s ‘GYAN’—Garib, Yuva, Nari and Kisan—the State has expanded the concept as ‘GYANI’.
Madhya Pradesh to Become the Milk Capital of India
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the State Government is working with the resolve to make Madhya Pradesh the Milk Capital of India. Milk collection in the State has reached around 12 lakh litres per day. Milk producers are earning profits of more than ₹8 per litre. Inspired by Prime Minister Shri Modi’s commitment to women’s empowerment, the State is promoting the Lakhpati Gopalak Didi Yojana. Through breed improvement and rearing of heifers, women in the State will be enabled to realise their dream of becoming Lakhpati Didis. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also said that the Government has implemented the Fisheries Policy-2026. Under the policy, an investment and buy-back agreement worth ₹7,430 crore has been signed with a leading international company in Madhya Pradesh.
Target to Increase Irrigation Potential to 100 Lakh Hectares
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Government is committed to ensuring irrigation water reaches the last field at the last mile. He thanked Prime Minister Shri Modi for gifting Madhya Pradesh the country’s first river-linking Ken-Betwa Project, costing ₹44,600 crore, on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna awardee Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said the dream of bringing greenery to the Vindhya region through the waters of the Narmada is set to become a reality with the success of the Sleemanabad Tunnel Project. The target is to increase Madhya Pradesh’s gross irrigation potential to 100 lakh hectares by 2028-29.
Digital Platform Developed for ODOP Products
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the State Government is developing a complete value chain from farm to factory. A digital platform has been developed to connect One District One Product (ODOP) products with global markets. On the occasion of National Handloom Day, a Handloom Centre of Excellence was also launched in the State.
Madhya Pradesh Leads the Country in Several Rural Development Schemes
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the overall development of villages is a priority of the Government. Madhya Pradesh has consistently remained at the forefront in implementing several ambitious rural development schemes. In housing schemes, Madhya Pradesh ranks first in the country in terms of the number of completed houses.
Over the past two and a half years, the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan has ushered in a new water revolution in Madhya Pradesh. The State’s model of water conservation and augmentation has received appreciation across the country. Madhya Pradesh is also a leading State in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Ladli Behna Yojana Empowering Women
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, India has entered a golden era of women’s empowerment from Panchayats to Parliament. At a one-day special session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly held on April 27, 2026, a resolution supporting one-third reservation for women and implementation of delimitation in Parliament and all Legislative Assemblies was passed under the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’ initiative. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana has become a means of providing economic empowerment to around 1.25 crore women. More than 53.55 lakh girls have been enrolled under the Ladli Laxmi Yojana.
171 Girls Enrolled for Every 100 Boys in Colleges—A Matter of Pride for the State
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that 73 universities and more than 1,400 colleges across the State are shaping the future of more than 16 lakh young people. A record number of e-admissions were registered in colleges in 2026-27. For every 100 boys, 171 girls are enrolling in colleges, which is a matter of pride for the State. He said that well-equipped Sandipani Schools have become an identity of Madhya Pradesh and other States are also adopting this model. More than 50 students of Sandipani Schools have secured positions in the State-level merit list. Of the top 10 districts in the State in the 2026 High School Examination results, seven are tribal-dominated districts.
Madhya Pradesh Moves from ‘Power Cuts’ to ‘Power Full’ Era
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has now moved from the old era of “power cuts” to an era of “power full”.
The State successfully met a peak demand of around 20,000 MW during the previous Rabi season and more than 21,000 MW this time.
Cultural Forests Being Developed Across the State
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Geeta Bhawans are being developed in every urban local body as new centres for deliberation, study and dialogue. To familiarise young people with the State’s glorious history, a theatrical production based on the life of Samrat Vikramaditya, a symbol of the State’s excellent tradition of good governance, was staged from Delhi’s Red Fort to Kashi, the city of Baba Vishwanath. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the State Government is giving concrete shape to the vision of “Tan-Man-Dhan, Sabse Upar Van”—forests above everything. Cultural forests are being established in Ujjain, Satna, Chhatarpur and Bhopal.
Madhya Pradesh Tops Country in Receiving 100% Incentive under Farmer Registry
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that good governance is at the heart of the Government. The first Cyber Registration Office has been inaugurated in Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh is the only State in the country to have generated more than one crore IDs under the Farmer Registry and received 100% of the incentive amount. He said that under the SVAMITVA Scheme, the State Government has decided to bear the entire registration fee for land-right records received under the scheme instead of passing the burden on to rural residents.
Over 67,000 Government Employees Benefit from Promotions
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that government employees are true Karmayogis. They had been waiting for promotions for the past 10 years. The State Government made sensitive and sustained efforts to pave the way for promotions. So far, more than 67,000 employees across the State have benefited from promotions.
As many as 47 officers and employees who received President’s Medals were also presented their medals by the Chief Minister. The Parade Commander and Platoon Commanders of all contingents participating in the parade introduced themselves to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. Chief Secretary Shri Ashok Barnwal, senior officers of the Madhya Pradesh Police, freedom fighters, public representatives, social workers, students and a large number of citizens were present at the ceremony.
