Financial boost for women again: MP CM Dr Yadav transfers Rs 1,836 cr to Ladli Behena scheme beneficiaries

Ladli Behena MP: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Sunday transferred as much as Rs 1,836 crore to more than 1.25 crore beneficiaries of the Ladli Behana Yojana of the state. The CM disbursed the funds by means of a single-click Direct Benefit Transfer during a women’s empowerment conference organised in the Ashta town of Sehore district.

Beneficiaries of other schemes benefited too

Addressing the attendees of the event, CM Dr Yadav said that the scheme continues to ramp up the economic independence of the state’s women. The funds, credited directly into the bank accounts of the female beneficiaries, are aimed at enhancing household stability and improving living standards. 

Alongside this, the beneficiaries of other government schemes were also provided assistance, which reflected the state government’s broader commitment to inclusive development. 

Ladli Behena MP: CM unleashes development works worth crores

During the event, the Chief Minister also inaugurated development projects valued at Rs 115.32 crore and laid the foundation stone for additional works worth Rs 69.90 crore in Ashta. These projects include jey infrastructure and social initiatives such as the laying of an Industrial Training Institute (ITI), construction of a girls’ hostel and urban beautification works in Jawar.

Further in the programme, announcements were made to develop school buildings, introduce science faculties, construct hostels and carve plans for barrages and canal networks to improve irrigation facilities. 

CM slams Congress over ‘Vande Mataram’

The Chief Minister also made political remarks during his address. He slammed the Indian National Congress over his stance on the patriotic chant ‘Vande Mataram,’ alleging that the party had politicised the slogan and had contributed to divisions in the history.

He went on to say that the ones who benefit from the country must not hesitate to say Vande Mataram, adding that national unity should reign supreme over political considerations. Furthermore, he credited Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi with fostering a renewed sense of unity around the chant.
