Jailer 2 leak news: Days after the final film of Tamil superstar Vijay’s career, ‘Jana Nayagan’ leaked online, the issue has also inflicted Tamil film industry’s big gun, Rajinikanth’s, ‘Jailer 2,’ as an unauthorised video clip from the film circulated online ahead of its release. The footage, believed to have been recorded on set, gained traction across social media platforms, leaving both fans and the production team concerned.
The recurring incident has once again put the piracy challenge under spotlight, particularly during the crucial stages of production.
Jailer 2 leak news: Filmmakers issue warning
Responding to the leak swiftly, the film’s production house, Sun Pictures released a firm statement, confirming that its anti-piracy unit is actively tracking the source of the leaked clip. Furthermore, the filmmakers warned that strict action would be initiated against persons or accounts sharing or promoting the content.
The production house’s statement also urged fans, media organisations and fan clubs to refrain from engaging with the leaked footage. It cautioned that social media accounts involved in circulation of the clip could either face suspension or restrictions, adding that they shall not be liable for any consequences faced by the violators.
Second leak in recent weeks
Notably, the controversy follows closely on the heels of a similar leak involving a Tamil movie, Jana Nayagan, starring Thalapathy Vijay. The case escalated significantly, resulting in legal proceedings and numerous arrests, including that of a freelance assistant editor.
Jailer 2 details
Jailer 2 is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, and serves as the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer, which raked in Rs 650 crore worldwide. The second instalment boasts a star-studded ensemble, including Shivarajkumar, Mohanlal, Vijay Sethupathi, Mithun Chakraborty and Vidya Balan. The project is reportedly nearing completion, and anticipation remains high among fans. However, the filmmakers are persevering in efforts to contain the leak and safeguard the film as it gears up for its planned 2026 release.
