A shocking incident has been reported from Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman was allegedly assaulted by her husband and two other men inside the Family Court premises. A video of the confrontation has gone viral on social media.

Woman Was at Court for Maintenance Case

The woman, identified as Priya Tripathi, had reportedly gone to the Family Court for a hearing in an ongoing maintenance dispute involving her husband, Manish Kumar Mishra. According to her complaint, the incident took place on September 24 after she left the courtroom with her father and sister.

Priya alleged that Manish, along with Prince Mishra and Satish Mishra, confronted her in the ground-floor hall and began assaulting her. She also alleged that she was pulled down and that there was an attempt to strangle her.

Father and Sister Also Allegedly Attacked

According to the complaint, Priya’s father and sister tried to intervene, but they were also allegedly assaulted during the confrontation. Police personnel at the court premises reportedly intervened after the situation turned violent.

The video circulating online appears to show several people involved in a physical fight. Hindustan noted that it could not independently verify the authenticity of the video.

FIR Registered, Arrests Made

Following Priya’s complaint and submission of the video, police registered an FIR in connection with the alleged assault. Reports differ slightly on the number of arrests: India Today reported that two accused were arrested, while the latest Times of India report specifically confirmed the arrest of husband Manish.

Priya also alleged that she was threatened with death if she continued pursuing the case. Police said the investigation is underway to establish the full sequence of events and examine the allegations.
