In Meerut, female Sub-Inspector Anu has been suspended for allegedly violating the social media policy. Anu is the same woman police officer who arrested Muskan, the accused in the much-discussed Saurabh murder case of 2025. A video related to the female police officer surfaced on social media on Sunday, following which the police department began an investigation and suspended her.

Claims of Objectionable Videos and QR Code on Social Media 

It is being reported that female police officer Anu used to post videos and go live on social media. Some of these videos have been described as objectionable. A QR code is also visible in the pictures and videos that surfaced on social media, which is claimed to have been used for donations. Anu had also shot an underwater dance video in a swimming pool. Apart from this, a video from a railway station has also surfaced, in which she can be seen posing in jeans and a top.

YouTuber Had Complained About the Female Police Officer 

A YouTuber had complained about the female police officer’s social media posts. He also released a video demanding action from the police department and the Chief Minister. The complaint claimed that reels were posted on the female police officer’s Instagram and YouTube channels, and that QR codes were also visible in some of the videos.

Instagram Account Under the Name ‘Ani Colliss’   

According to reports, female police officer Anu had an Instagram account under the name ‘Ani Colliss’. The profile described her as a Sub-Inspector of the Uttar Pradesh Police. The account had a large number of posts, and a link to her YouTube channel was also provided in the profile. According to the police, the objectionable video related to social media has been removed and the female police officer’s account has also been deleted.

Had Arrested Muskan in the Saurabh Murder Case 

Anu is the same female police officer who arrested Muskan, the accused in the much-discussed blue drum Saurabh murder case of 2025, and brought her to the police station. At that time, Anu was posted at Brahmpuri Police Station. The case related to Muskan attracted considerable attention during the murder investigation. Anu had also shared a video with Muskan on her social media account. After this, Anu was transferred to the Meerut SSP Office. Her first posting in Meerut was at Rohta Police Station. She is a 2023-batch Sub-Inspector and is originally from Prayagraj.

Police Will Also Investigate Whether the Video Is Genuine or Edited 

The police are now conducting a reality check of the surfaced video. The investigation will also determine whether the viral video has been tampered with or edited in any way. The female police officer’s social media activities and the source of the video will also be investigated. The departmental inquiry has been assigned to Saumya Singh, an officer from the CO office.

Cyber-Level Investigation Also Underway 

According to Meerut SP Crime Avnish Kumar, the matter is being investigated at the cyber level along with the departmental inquiry. Further departmental action will be taken based on the investigation report.
According to the police, such social media activities while holding office fall under the category of violation of the department’s social media policy. On this basis, the female police officer has been suspended.
