The death of an Indian sailor in Venezuela has triggered serious concerns after his family alleged that several organs were missing from his body when it was brought back to India. The claims, which have not yet been officially verified, have led to calls for a high-level and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death and the handling of his remains.

The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Chauhan, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, who reportedly died under suspicious circumstances while in Venezuela. Following legal procedures abroad, his body was repatriated to India and handed over to the family.

Family Raises Serious Allegations

According to family members, concerns arose soon after the body arrived in India due to the lack of detailed information regarding the cause of death and the absence of certain official documents. Seeking clarity, the family reportedly decided to conduct a second medical examination in India.

The family claims that the examination revealed that several organs, including the kidneys, liver and lungs, were missing from the body. The allegations have shocked relatives and local residents, prompting demands for answers from the authorities involved in the case. However, no official medical report confirming these allegations has been made public so far, and authorities have not verified the claims independently.

Questions Over Documentation

Apart from the allegations regarding missing organs, the family has also claimed that they were not provided with complete documentation related to Chauhan’s death and the repatriation of his body from Venezuela.

Relatives argue that the lack of information has only deepened their concerns and raised further questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident. They have urged government agencies to examine all available records and establish the sequence of events leading up to Chauhan’s death.

Demand for Independent Probe

The case has drawn attention from several organisations and community groups, which have called for a transparent and high-level investigation. They have demanded that authorities verify the claims made by the family and determine whether established procedures were followed during the handling and transportation of the body.

Officials have not issued a detailed statement on the allegations, and investigations are reportedly ongoing. If the claims are substantiated, the case could raise serious questions about international procedures involving deaths abroad and the repatriation of human remains. Until then, Chauhan’s family says it continues to wait for answers regarding the death of their loved one and the events that followed.
