LPG Crisis: Modi Govt’s Big Plan to Build Gas Reserves, Boost Energy Security

India LPG Crisis Plan: Modi government’s new preparations, and plans are now ready and to take new steps according to sources, around 65 lakh metric tonnes PNG are underway to create additional strategic reserves of, so that the country can get relief in case of supply crisis.

LPG Gas Crisis: Growing in West Asia –

Drawing lessons from the tensions and war-like situation with Iran, the central government is now developing a long-term strategy for energy security. According to sources, the government is seriously considering creating a strategic reserve of natural gas, similar to the one for crude oil.

It is being told that first the technical aspects of the strategic reserve of gas will be reviewed in detail, after which further steps will be taken in this direction. Along with this, the government is also planning to increase the strategic reserve of crude oil compared to the current level.

Expansion of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) network –

According to sources, preparations are underway to create an additional strategic reserve of about 65 lakh metric tonnes, so that the country can get relief in case of supply crisis.

To strengthen energy security, the government will also focus on expanding the Piped Natural Gas (PNG) network, so that gas can reach more and more homes and industries.

In addition, the government is planning to take several steps to increase the use of alternative energy sources. The expansion of electric vehicles (EVs) will be accelerated to reduce dependence on petrol and diesel.

Additionally, new policies and incentives could be introduced to promote the use of ethanol, thereby diversifying the energy mix and reducing dependence on imports. Experts believe these government steps will strengthen India’s energy security and help stabilize the economy amid global uncertainties.
