Student pronounced dead at hospital

The cops entered the room to find the student hanging from the ceiling fan. A noose was tied to his neck by means of a stole. The police team rushed him to the IIT Delhi hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. The cops began probing the incident, and preliminary findings suggest that he was a first-year undergraduate student residing on the campus along with his mother.

The following morning, when the student failed to answer repeated calls from his mother, another resident of the apartment attempted to check on him. The resident, along with the security personnel, opened the door to find the student hanging inside. On receipt of the information, crime and forensic teams inspected the spot and collected relevant evidence for further probe.

No foul play suspected

As per police’s claims, no suicide note was recovered from the scene. Later, the student’s father reached the location to give his statement, in which he said he did not suspect any foul play. Following this, the police sent his body to the Safdarjung Hospital mortuary for autopsy, and later handed it over to his kin for last rites.
