UPSC CSE 2025 result expected to be released soon; merit list likely this week

Education news: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is expected to announce the results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 in the upcoming days. According to officials, the merit list is likely to be released in the first or second week of March 2026, following the completion of personality tests in the final week of February 2026.

Notably, the Commission takes a while to compile and verify the final rankings after the completion of the interview round.

Interview round held at Dholpur House in Delhi

For the unversed, the interview process commenced in January 2026, and was held at the UPSC headquarters at Dholpur House in National capital New Delhi. 

It is noteworthy that the personality test round carries 275 marks, and also marks the final stage of the selection process. The combined scores of the written exam and interview determine a candidate’s rank in the final merit list. The list will include the names of the candidates recommended for appointment to India’s premier civil services.

Candidates who took the exam, and then appeared for the interview round must follow these steps to access their results.

  1. Visit the official website of the commission at upsconline.nic.in
  2. Click on the link on the homepage which reads “UPSC CSE results”
  3. Enter the login credentials to view the scorecard
  4. Review the result and download the scorecard for future references

Successful candidates to be offered services in these sectors

The candidates who emerge successful in both the written test and the interview round will be eligible for elite services such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service, Indian Trade Service, and other Group A and B central services.
