Dhurandhar 2 collections: Film’s stellar two-week run keeps momentum strong worldwide; movie nears Rs 1500 cr mark

‘Dhurandhar 2 collections: The Revenge’ continues its record-breaking run, inching closer to the Rs 1500 crore milestone on a global level after an extraordinary two-week stint in theatres. Fronted by Ranveer Singh, the spy-thriller has raked in a whopping Rs 1,466.47 crore worldwide so far, fuelled by consistent domestic performance and a strong hold overseas.

Overseas markets contribute to film’s dominance

On an international level, the film minted Rs 7 crore on day 14, elevating its overseas gross to Rs 365 crore. Key markets such as Australia, Germany and the UK have recorded sustained traction, contributing largely to the film’s global dominance. 

Dhurandhar 2 collections: Robust domestic performance still on

Back home, the film grossed Rs 20.10 crore on Wednesday, taking its second-week domestic total to Rs 245.85 crore. It has now logged cumulative domestic figures of Rs 920.02 crore (net) and Rs 1,101.47 crore (gross), reaffirming its blockbuster status. In the opening week, the film had opened to phenomenal numbers, minting Rs 674.14 crore.

It began its box office journey with Rs 102.55 crore on March 19, followed by Rs 80.72 crore and Rs 113 crore on subsequent days, before peaking at Rs 114.85 crore on March 22. While weekday collections dipped to Rs 65 crore on the first Monday and stabilised between Rs 40-60 crore through the week, the movie picked pace again over the weekend. 

Movie draws praise for action sequences

The Aditya Dhar directorial has been applauded widely for its high-octane action sequences. South Korean action director, Oh Sea-Young and other international stunt experts played a crucial role in crafting the film’s combat choreography.

Young described Ranveer Singh as a ‘beast’ on set, lauding his dedication and meticulous approach to action-packed scenes. In an interaction with the media, he said that the actor took detailed notes during rehearsals and sought technical precision in every move.
