BJP rally in Bengal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Thursday visited West Bengal, where he launched a scathing attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC). He asserted that no force could stop the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from coming to power in the state during the upcoming assembly polls. 

CM Dr Yadav arrived in Durgapur at around 11am, and proceeded to Bankura by helicopter. He oversaw the filing of nominations for five BJP candidates in the state, as part of the party’s efforts to strengthen its position ahead of Assembly Elections. 

“No force can stop BJP in Bengal”: CM Dr Yadav

The Chief Minister addressed a public rally in Bankura, where he claimed that the political momentum was in favour of the BJP. He remarked, “No power in the world can prevent the BJP from forming a government in West Bengal.” He then took aim at the Mamata Banerjee-led government, and alleged that the state had witnessed large-scale migration under TMC’s rule. He added, “People are leaving Bengal, while illegal infiltrators are prospering in the state. Foreign intruders are taking over the rights of the citizens,” opining that there was no place for Bangladeshis in the state.

The CM then accused Bengal CM Banerjee of selective governance. He said, “The BJP government is working  for all sections of the society, but Didi (Mamata) seems to recognise only one religion. She has nothing to do with Hindus.” He further alleged that multiple scams had unfolded under the TMC regime and claimed that Bengal’s people had suffered significantly as a result. CM Dr Yadav said, “The state now seeks change, and the BJP is the only viable alternative.” 

5 BJP candidates file nominations

During the visit, five BJP candidates filed their nomination papers. These include Chandana Bauri from Saltora, Satyanarayan Mukhopadhyay from Chhatna, Nildari Shekhar Dana from Bankura, Bileshwar Sinha from Barjora and Amarnath Shakha from Onda. CM Dr Yadav’s visit is being viewed as part of the BJP’s intensified campaign push in West Bengal as it seeks to expand its electoral footprint in the state.
