Rajkummar Rao-starrer ‘Srikanth’ has won the National Film Award for Best Hindi Film at the 72nd National Film Awards. The prestigious honour was presented by President Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony held in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat.

Producer Bhushan Kumar and director Tushar Hiranandani received the award on behalf of the film. Bhushan Kumar described the recognition as a proud and humbling moment, saying the team was deeply moved by the life story of Srikanth Bolla, the visually impaired entrepreneur whose journey inspired the film.

Released in 2024, Srikanth stars Rajkummar Rao in the lead role, alongside Jyotika, Alaya F and Sharad Kelkar. The film is inspired by the life of industrialist Srikanth Bolla and focuses on his determination to pursue his ambitions despite challenges.

Director Tushar Hiranandani said receiving the National Film Award from President Murmu was a moment he would cherish. He described Srikanth Bolla’s journey as a story about courage, determination and the ability to dream beyond limitations.

The Best Hindi Film award for Srikanth was announced in July as part of the 72nd National Film Awards. The award recognises films certified during the 2024 calendar year.
