Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the pressure group Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), alleged on Saturday that expired food is being served to the students enrolled at government schools, while vowing to ramp up his party’s ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign despite imminent legal action.

Dipke shared a video on ‘X’ on Saturday, questioning whether officials in positions of power would be willing to serve the same food to their own children. 

He added that he would not back down from highlighting alleged irregularities at education facilities being run by the government, even if he has to face FIRs for doing the same. 

His ‘X’ post read, “If exposing this means FIRs against us, then please do. We won't stop exposing the truth,” while tagging the post with #SchoolThikKaro. 

However, Dipke’s allegations have not been independently verified. He did not name the schools or specify the location where the alleged expired food was being served. 

School Thik Karo campaign gathers steam

Under the School Thik Karo campaign, Dipke has been paying visits to government schools and has been shedding light on issues concerning infrastructure, administration and basic amenities. He launched the initiative from his native village in Maharashtra’s Hingoli district. 

Earlier this month, Dipke claimed that the government school located in his native village received its first-ever computer system. He shared a clip on ‘X’, terming the development a sign that change was possible. He further wrote in the post, “When the Govt Fails, People Step Up! First ever computer arrives at my village. Change is possible!.”

Earlier, Dipke has also highlighted various other problems at government schools, including broken toilets, inadequate supply of drinking water and poor infrastructure. He has repeatedly questioned why ministers and government officials do not send their own kids to government-run schools, and demanded that the PM Cares Fund be used to rev up facilities at schools. 

CJP announces mobilisation on September 5

Meanwhile, the party has also announced plans to conduct another peaceful mobilisation after a month-long pause following negotiations with the Union Government. 

The outfit has been demanding  the withdrawal of the FIRs registered against students and a probe into the allegations of pellet and bullet firing during demonstrations at Jantar Mantar in the national capital. 

The march, proposed to be held on September 5, coincides with Teachers’ Day, and is expected to be led by the kin of students who died by suicide after the cancellation of the NEET UG 2026 exam and a subsequent re-test. Moreover, the ones who allegedly suffered police excesses during the July 20 agitation are also likely to turn up.
