Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Friday inspected the Takha Anganwadi Centre and Dr Rajendra Prasad District Hospital during his visit to Tikamgarh, reviewing facilities for children, women and patients and interacting with beneficiaries.

At the Anganwadi centre, Ladli Laxmi daughters, Ladli Behna beneficiaries and women enrolled under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana welcomed the Chief Minister by tying Rakhis on his wrist. In a gesture of appreciation, Yadav presented saris, cosmetic kits and umbrellas to Ladli Behna beneficiaries.

CM interacts with children

CM Dr Yadav spent time with children at the Anganwadi centre, showering affection on them and asking about their meals. He gave roses to the children and asked them their names and what they were served.

When the children replied that they received “breakfast and food”, the Chief Minister asked whether they ate it. The children enthusiastically responded in the affirmative.

CM Dr Yadav directed officials to ensure that children received nutritious and quality breakfast and meals. He also inspected the Anganwadi kitchen and reviewed arrangements related to food preparation.

CM performs Annaprashan ceremony

During the visit, CM Dr Yadav performed the Annaprashan ceremony of baby Vaishnavi, feeding her kheer with his own hands and blessing her for a bright future. He directed officials to ensure a continuous supply of safe drinking water for children as well as pregnant and lactating women at the centre. The Chief Minister also greeted local residents and listened to their concerns during his visit.

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare and De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Welfare and Tikamgarh district in-charge Minister Krishna Gaur, Chief Secretary Ashok Barnwal, public representatives and senior administrative officials were present.

District Hospital facilities reviewed

CM Dr Yadav subsequently inspected Dr Rajendra Prasad District Hospital, where he reviewed several facilities, including the OPD registration counter, doctors’ chambers, the blood sample collection centre in the laboratory and the emergency ward of the trauma centre.

The Chief Minister met two snakebite patients and an accident victim and enquired about their condition through their family members.

He also inspected the Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre (NRC), where he interacted with children undergoing treatment for malnutrition. Yadav distributed health kits to 19 malnourished children admitted to the centre.

District Panchayat Chairperson Umita Singh, Saroj Rajput, Jatara MLA Harishankar Khatik, former Minister of State Rahul Singh, former Tikamgarh MLA Rakesh Giri, former MLA Ajay Yadav, MP representative Anurag Verma, former Prithvipur MLA Dr Shishupal Yadav, District Panchayat member Brijendra Singh Yadav, Dr Abhay Pratap Singh, Vivek Chaturvedi and other public representatives were present during the Chief Minister’s visit and welcomed him.
