MP Enters India’s Defence Manufacturing League: ₹2.5k Cr Adani Aerospace Unit Breaks Ground in Shivpuri

Madhya Pradesh marked a significant milestone on Sunday as state’s Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone for Adani Defence & Aerospace's ₹2,500 crore manufacturing facility in Shivpuri district, a project expected to strengthen India's indigenous defence production while generating substantial employment in the region.

The ceremony was attended by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Adani Group's young leaders Karan Adani and Jeet Adani, along with senior government officials and industry representatives. During the event, the Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth ₹211 crore and distributed benefits to beneficiaries of various government welfare schemes.

Defence manufacturing to create employment and boost regional growth

Addressing the gathering, CM Dr Yadav described the occasion as a historic day for Madhya Pradesh, saying the state was poised to play a much larger role in strengthening India's defence capabilities.

He said the missiles manufactured at the upcoming facility would enhance the country's defence preparedness and contribute to safeguarding national security. According to the Chief Minister, the project is expected to generate employment for nearly 5,000 people, opening new economic opportunities for the region.

Highlighting the rapid pace of development across the state, CM Dr Yadav noted that Madhav National Park has emerged as a new tourism destination, while a recently inaugurated cement factory in Guna reflects the growing industrial momentum across the Gwalior-Guna belt.

He added that the defence manufacturing project represents an investment in the future of coming generations and reinforces Madhya Pradesh's position as an emerging industrial destination.

CM announces fresh development initiatives

During the programme, the state’s top political leader announced a series of infrastructure and public welfare projects for Shivpuri district.

Among the key announcements were the construction of a 14-km four-lane road, estimated at ₹120 crore, to improve connectivity with the National Highway, establishment of a Cardiology Unit at the medical college, a new arts, commerce and science college at Khod, creation of the new Subhashpura tehsil, a primary health centre at Pichhore, and a new road linking Karega-Bhitarwar Road with Samoha Dam.

He also announced the establishment of an agricultural produce market at Khaniyadhana, a Sandipani School in Khatoura Gram Panchayat, and a 200-bed maternal and child hospital in Shivpuri.

Leaders hail project as a milestone for self-reliant India

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia described the occasion as the beginning of a new chapter in nation-building. He said the project reflects India's march towards 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding that Shivpuri is set to emerge as a new growth centre.

Scindia also praised Chief Minister Dr Yadav for earning investors' confidence and creating an environment conducive to industrial expansion.
