MP Govt to Inaugurate 70 Sandipani Schools by July 15, CM Dr Yadav Calls for Statewide Celebration
The Madhya Pradesh government is preparing to inaugurate 70 newly constructed Sandipani Schools by July 15, 2026, officials said on Saturday. State’s Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav has directed officials to ensure that the inauguration is not treated as a routine administrative event but celebrated as a grand festival of education, culture and public participation.
Chairing a high-level review meeting at the state secretariat on Saturday, the Chief Minister said the initiative marks a significant milestone in strengthening the state's education system and should leave a lasting impression on students, teachers and local communities alike.
Student participation, cultural activities to remain at the centre
The inauguration ceremonies will be organised under the 'School Chalein Abhiyan' (Let's Go to School Campaign), with a strong emphasis on making the events memorable for children.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to organise cultural performances, sports competitions and creative activities across the newly inaugurated schools to encourage active student participation. The celebrations are intended to create a welcoming environment for children while reinforcing the importance of quality education.
Special refreshments and sweets will also be distributed to students during the events.
Enrolment drive to receive new push
The state government has also directed the officials concerned that schools where Sandipani institutions have already been inaugurated should celebrate 'Praveshotsav' (School Enrolment Festival) with equal enthusiasm.
Officials believe the initiative will encourage greater enrolment in government schools and strengthen public confidence in the state's education system.
Science exhibitions planned on occasion of Guru Purnima
The review meeting also decided that every district in Madhya Pradesh will host a science exhibition at one Sandipani School on July 29, coinciding with Guru Purnima.
The exhibitions will showcase students' talent, innovation and artificial intelligence-based projects. Outstanding teachers and meritorious students will also be felicitated during the celebrations in recognition of their achievements.
70 schools await inauguration
School Education Secretary Dr Sanjay Goyal informed the Chief Minister that all 70 Sandipani Schools are fully completed and ready for inauguration. Of these, 46 schools fall under the School Education Department, while the remaining 24 have been developed by the Tribal Affairs Department.
The Chief Minister has directed that the inauguration ceremonies be conducted in the presence of district ministers in charge and local public representatives. He also emphasised that these institutions should be developed into model centres offering modern, high-quality and value-based education, setting new benchmarks for government schools across Madhya Pradesh.
