Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Thursday announced that the state government will soon constitute a board for the Pal-Gadariya community, saying the move would help ensure adequate representation and support the community’s welfare.

CM Dr Yadav made the announcement while addressing a memorial programme held at Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal to mark the 231st death anniversary of Punyashloka Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar.

CM pays tribute to Ahilyabai Holkar

The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Minister. CM Dr Yadav also paid floral tribute to Devi Ahilyabai Holkar and offered his respects before her portrait. He extended his greetings to the people of Madhya Pradesh on the occasion commemorating the legendary ruler.

Speaking at the event, CM Dr Yadav described Ahilyabai Holkar as an iconic ruler of Malwa whose legacy continues to make Madhya Pradesh and the country proud. He said she established enduring standards of good governance during her reign and remained an embodiment of public service, justice and sacrifice.

The Chief Minister also recalled that the state government had held a Cabinet meeting at Rajwada in her memory. He said Ahilyabai’s life and contribution continue to inspire the government’s efforts towards public service, good governance, women’s empowerment and cultural renaissance.

Govt stresses inclusive development

CM Dr Yadav said the state government, under Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s leadership, was working on the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and was committed to ensuring equality and inclusive development.

Referring to the Pal-Gadariya community, the Chief Minister said the community traces its lineage to Lord Krishna. He announced that the government would soon establish a dedicated Pal-Gadariya board so that members of the community could receive appropriate representation.

“The government is always ready to stand with the Gadariya community in their joys and difficulties and work for their welfare,” CM Dr Yadav said.

He also underlined the government’s focus on strengthening the rural economy through livestock-related activities. According to the Chief Minister, dairy production and animal husbandry are being encouraged as part of efforts to boost the state’s economic prosperity.

The announcement came during an event centred on the enduring legacy of Ahilyabai Holkar, whose reign is widely associated with administration, justice, social welfare and the restoration of religious and cultural institutions.

The memorial programme in Bhopal brought together tributes to the celebrated Malwa ruler with a renewed emphasis on governance, social representation and community welfare in Madhya Pradesh.
