Madhya Pradesh is positioning itself as a potential investment destination for the semiconductor industry, with state Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav highlighting the state’s land availability, skilled workforce potential and investor-friendly policies at Semicon India-2026 in New Delhi.

CM Dr Yadav visited the Madhya Pradesh Pavilion at the event, being held at Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, on Thursday and interacted with the media afterwards. A dedicated state government stall has been set up at the exhibition, where officials are engaging with investors and business representatives from various sectors.

Investor summit in Indore next month

CM Dr Yadav said the state government was making concerted efforts to attract both domestic and international investment in the semiconductor sector.

As part of these efforts, a major investor summit will be held in Indore on October 23 and 24, where investors associated with the semiconductor industry will be briefed about investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh and the policies being offered by the state.

The summit is aimed at showcasing the state’s investment potential at both national and international levels.

Investors have already taken steps

The Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh was moving ahead with a clear commitment to promote semiconductor investment, while working to create a favourable environment for the industry.

He said the state had been actively promoting its policies among investors in India and abroad and inviting businesses to explore investment opportunities.

CM Dr Yadav also recalled that investors from the semiconductor sector had been invited during the Global Investors Summit (GIS-2025). According to him, some investors have already taken steps towards land allocation for their proposed projects.

Focus on jobs, skill development

CM Dr Yadav said expansion of the semiconductor industry could create new employment and skill-development opportunities for young people in Madhya Pradesh.

He added that several business groups were looking to expand their operations through partnerships with foreign companies. Such collaborations, he said, could contribute to the development of a broader industrial and business ecosystem in the state.

The Chief Minister said investors from almost every sector were showing interest in Madhya Pradesh and that the state government was continuing its dialogue with them.

Bhopal-Indore region seen as key opportunity

CM Dr Yadav attributed the growing interest in the semiconductor industry in India to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said Madhya Pradesh was moving towards becoming an important investment destination in the sector.

He highlighted the state’s investor-friendly policies, substantial land bank and scope for skill development as key factors supporting the industry.

CM Dr Yadav said the Bhopal and Indore metropolitan areas offered significant potential for semiconductor-related investment. He expressed confidence that Madhya Pradesh would play an important role in the semiconductor sector in the coming years.
