CM Dr. Mohan’s Big Vision for MP, Agriculture Innovation Dialogue Programs to Be Held at Division and District Levels: C

Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has taken a major step towards making agriculture a profitable business and connecting youth with farming. With the objective of promoting agricultural innovation, modern technology and agriculture-based entrepreneurship in the state and increasing farmers’ income, Agriculture Innovation Dialogue programs will now be organized at the divisional and district levels. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said this during the youth dialogue organized at Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal on August 24.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is known as an agriculture-based state. He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, irrigation facilities are being rapidly expanded in Madhya Pradesh. The state government’s goal is to ensure that clean drinking water reaches every village and irrigation water reaches every field in the coming years. He said that the nature of farming is changing rapidly today. By adopting new technology, new crops, modern agricultural machinery, horticulture, organic and natural farming, and agriculture-based entrepreneurship, youth can make agriculture a profitable business.

Emphasis on Connecting Youth with Agricultural Innovation

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that agriculture faculties have been started in several universities in the state. Youth should pursue agricultural education, open doors to new possibilities and innovate while remaining connected to the roots of agriculture. Farmers can increase their income by setting up polyhouses, warehouses, food processing units and other agriculture-based enterprises. He said that horticultural crops are being promoted for higher returns from limited land. Youth can start activities such as growing roses and various flowers in polyhouses, mushroom farming, pearl farming and beekeeping at low cost. Mushroom and pearl farming can even be started from a single room at home.

Income Will Increase Through Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Along with Agriculture

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that farmers should adopt animal husbandry, fisheries, goat farming and poultry farming along with multi-crop farming. Madhya Pradesh currently ranks third in the country in milk production. An MoU has been signed with NDDB to make it a leading state. He said that the state has a target of preparing one lakh Gir breed calves every year. Improved breeds of livestock will increase milk production and provide farmers and livestock owners with a source of daily income. Through the efforts of the state government, farmers have also benefited from an increase of ₹8 to ₹10 per litre in the price of milk.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana, the state government is providing a subsidy of ₹10 lakh for setting up a dairy with 25 cows at a cost of approximately ₹43 lakh. The system of milk collection through cooperative societies at the village level is being strengthened. Regarding fisheries, the Chief Minister said that the state has a sufficient number of ponds and reservoirs. Earlier, fish seed had to be brought from other states, but now three hatcheries have been started in Madhya Pradesh for fish seed production. This will promote fisheries at the local level and create new employment and income opportunities for youth.

Continuous Decisions in the Interest of Farmers

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government is continuously taking farmer-friendly decisions to ensure that farmers receive a fair price for their crops. Farmers have benefited from bonuses along with wheat procurement at MSP, and Madhya Pradesh has emerged among the leading states in the country in wheat procurement. Soybean-producing farmers have also been provided benefits under the Bhavantar Yojana. He said that farmers should adopt modern agricultural machinery and new technology and move towards multi-crop and alternative farming instead of depending on a single crop. This will increase income from farming. The state government has launched the Krishak Kalyan Varsh for the welfare of farmers. This year, special emphasis is being placed on the development of food processing and agriculture-based entrepreneurship along with agriculture.

Irrigation Expansion Gains Momentum

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that irrigation capacity in the state is being continuously expanded. The government’s goal is to rapidly increase the irrigated area in the coming years so that no field in the state is left behind due to a shortage of water. He said that along with better utilization of water resources, modern irrigation technologies are also being promoted.

During the program, Sports, Youth Welfare and Cooperation Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang said that Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has dedicated this year to farmer welfare and taken the initiative to connect youth with agriculture and agriculture-based entrepreneurship. Dialogue with youth in the agriculture sector will become the foundation of a new agricultural revolution in Madhya Pradesh.

Students and faculty members of agricultural colleges, agricultural scientists, representatives of agricultural startups, young sarpanches, agricultural researchers, youth involved in agricultural innovation and agricultural influencers attended the program in large numbers.
