MP CM Dr Yadav Rides Through Ujjain on Bike; Makes Jalebis, Shares a Cup of Tea with Locals
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav adopted an unconventional approach during his visit to Ujjain on Friday, swapping official meetings and convoy inspections for a motorcycle ride through the city's narrow lanes. The Chief Minister personally reviewed the progress of infrastructure projects linked to the upcoming Simhastha-2028, while also interacting with residents in an informal setting.
After laying the foundation stone for the Jaora Four-Lane Project, CM Dr Yadav travelled from Nagda to Ujjain to assess the status of various development works underway for the grand religious congregation. Instead of limiting his review to presentations by officials, he toured several parts of the old city on a motorcycle, closely examining the pace and quality of ongoing construction projects.
As he passed through the bustling streets, the Chief Minister stopped at multiple locations to inspect the work on the ground and sought detailed updates from senior officials overseeing the projects.
‘'Simhastha a matter of pride for entire MP,'’ says CM
During the inspection, CM Dr Yadav described Simhastha-2028 as far more than a religious event confined to Ujjain, calling it a festival of immense prestige for the entire state of Madhya Pradesh.
He directed officials from various departments to work in close coordination and ensure that all preparations are completed within the stipulated timeframe. Stressing the importance of delivering world-class facilities to the millions of devotees expected to visit the holy city, the Chief Minister said there would be no compromise on the quality of any development project.
Furthermore, he instructed authorities to maintain high construction standards and ensure that every aspect of the preparations reflects the state's commitment to hosting the event successfully.
CM tries his hand at making jalebis
In a surprise move during the inspection, the state’s top political leader made an unscheduled stop at a local hotel in Ujjain's old city. To the delight of those present, he stepped behind the counter, took charge of the frying pan and prepared fresh jalebis with his own hands.
The unexpected gesture left customers and bystanders pleasantly surprised. Many immediately pulled out their mobile phones to capture the rare moment, recording videos and clicking photographs of the Chief Minister making the popular Indian sweet.
The visit did not end there. CM Dr Yadav also enjoyed a cup of tea at the hotel while engaging in candid conversations with local residents. He listened to their views on the city's ongoing development works and sought feedback on the preparations for Simhastha-2028.
