Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Wednesday interacted with a group of meritorious students from Agar-Malwa and Jabalpur at the State Legislative Assembly, describing them as the "architects of the nation’s bright future". He stressed that nurturing democratic values among young minds is vital for building a responsible and informed society.

During the interaction held at the Vidhan Sabha on 22 July, the Chief Minister said that students represent the strength and aspirations of the country and that encouraging them to understand democratic institutions at an early age would help shape responsible citizens. He underlined that familiarising the younger generation with the functioning of constitutional bodies is the need of the hour.

Assembly serves as the finest classroom for democracy

Addressing the students, CM Dr Yadav explained that the Legislative Assembly offers a unique opportunity to understand how governments function, how laws are framed and debated, and how parliamentary traditions are upheld. He remarked that no classroom could offer a better practical lesson in democracy than witnessing the proceedings of the Assembly itself.

"The Legislative Assembly is the finest institution for understanding governance, legislative procedures and democratic values," he said, adding that exposure to such processes inspires young citizens to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

The Chief Minister further stated that the Madhya Pradesh Government is continuously working to increase the participation of young people in the state's development journey. According to officials, the delegation included more than 50 students from different parts of Agar-Malwa district, along with 40 students from STEM Field International School, Jabalpur.

Students inspired by first-hand experience of Parliamentary proceedings

During an informal interaction, CM Dr Yadav invited the students to share their experiences of visiting the Assembly. The students enthusiastically recounted how they had, for the first time, observed the proceedings of a live Assembly session from close quarters. They described the experience as both enlightening and inspiring, saying it helped them gain a deeper understanding of the functioning of parliamentary democracy and the legislative process.

The students also expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to witness debates and proceedings inside the House, calling it an invaluable learning experience that strengthened their awareness of democratic governance.

Handmade models presented to the Chief Minister

Commending the students for their talent, creativity and innovative thinking, CM Dr Yadav wished them success in their future endeavours. He encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence while remaining committed to the values of democracy and public service.

As a token of gratitude, the students presented the Chief Minister with a collection of handmade models and artistic scenic displays created by them. Dr Yadav appreciated the thoughtful gesture and praised the creativity reflected in their work, describing it as a testament to the imagination and potential of the state's youth.

The interaction concluded on a positive note, with the Chief Minister reiterating that empowering young minds through education and democratic awareness remains central to the government's vision for a progressive and participative Madhya Pradesh.
