Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav stepped into the shoes of a teacher during a visit to Kamla Nehru Sandipani Girls Government School in Bhopal on Wednesday, spending time with students in an interactive classroom session that went beyond a routine inspection.

Instead of merely reviewing facilities, the Chief Minister actively participated in classroom activities, teaching lessons on the blackboard, engaging students in live discussions and encouraging them to pursue their academic goals. His hands-on approach drew enthusiastic responses from both students and teachers, making the visit a memorable experience.

Chief Minister takes over the classroom

During the visit, CM Dr Yadav interacted directly with students, discussing their studies, future aspirations and the facilities available at the school. He invited students to participate in a live question-and-answer session, encouraging them to express their views freely.

The Chief Minister also taught lessons on the blackboard, asking students questions to assess their understanding of various subjects. The students responded enthusiastically, turning the classroom interaction into an engaging learning session.

The initiative reflected the government's emphasis on maintaining a close connection with educational institutions and understanding students' learning experiences at the grassroots level.

Chemistry lab demonstration highlights practical learning

As part of his visit, CM Dr Yadav inspected the school's chemistry laboratory, where he performed a few experiments before the students to demonstrate the importance of practical learning in science education.

He also toured classrooms, laboratories, the library and the sports ground to review the infrastructure and facilities available to students. During the inspection, the Chief Minister directed officials to continue strengthening the education system and ensure that schools are equipped with quality learning resources.

‘Real assessment cannot be made through files alone,’ says CM

Speaking during the visit, CM Dr Yadav said the actual condition of the education system could not be understood solely through official files or departmental reports.

He said the purpose of visiting schools personally was to gain first-hand knowledge of the functioning of educational institutions and interact directly with students and teachers.

The Chief Minister listened to their suggestions, concerns and feedback, saying such interactions would help the government identify areas requiring improvement and frame more effective policies for the education sector.

Focus on improving quality education

CM Dr Yadav reiterated that the Madhya Pradesh government remains committed to providing quality education, modern infrastructure and opportunities for the holistic development of students.

He said schools should not only impart academic knowledge but also nurture confidence, curiosity and practical skills among young learners. Emphasising continuous improvement in educational standards, he called upon officials and educators to work collectively towards creating a stronger learning environment.

The Chief Minister's visit was widely seen as a message that educational institutions would receive close attention from the state government and that any negligence in maintaining academic standards or school facilities would not be tolerated.

The interaction also boosted students' morale, as they had the opportunity to learn directly from the state's highest elected leader while sharing their own experiences and aspirations in an open classroom setting.
