Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Saturday reaffirmed his government's commitment to strengthening the state's education sector, saying that safeguarding the welfare of students and young people remains one of its foremost responsibilities.

Speaking to the media at the Central Hall of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Saturday, CM Dr Yadav said the state government is treating issues concerning teachers and students with the utmost seriousness and sensitivity. He added that a series of significant decisions are being taken to improve the quality of education while ensuring the overall welfare of students.

"The Madhya Pradesh government is deeply committed to the welfare of both teachers and students. Continuous efforts are being made to introduce meaningful reforms in the education sector and implement measures that serve the best interests of students," the Chief Minister said.

MP the first state to implement NEP 2020

Highlighting the state's achievements in education, CM Dr Yadav said Madhya Pradesh was the first state in the country to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He described the early adoption of the policy as a reflection of the government's commitment to modernising the education system and equipping students with improved academic opportunities.

The Chief Minister said the state administration has consistently focused on translating policy into action, with education remaining one of its top priorities.

3 new govt universities established

CM Dr Yadav also underscored the government's efforts to expand higher education infrastructure across the state. He said that during the government's two-and-a-half-year tenure, three new government universities have been established to improve access to quality higher education.

According to the Chief Minister, the expansion of educational institutions forms part of a broader strategy to accelerate the state's development while creating better opportunities for students.

More student-centric measures on the cards

The Chief Minister went on to say that the government considers it its responsibility not only to speed up the state's development but also to take decisions that directly benefit young people and students.

He noted that several important student-centric initiatives have already been implemented during the current government's tenure and assured that more welfare-oriented decisions would continue to be introduced in the coming years.

Reiterating the government's long-term vision for education, CM Dr Yadav said empowering students through improved educational infrastructure and progressive reforms would remain central to Madhya Pradesh's development agenda.
