Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Thursday visited Chandrashekhar Azad Nagar in Alirajpur district, the birthplace of legendary revolutionary freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azad, to commemorate his birth anniversary.

The Chief Minister paid floral tribute at Azad’s statue and offered his respects, remembering the revolutionary’s extraordinary courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment towards the nation.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Dr Yadav said that the life of Chandrashekhar Azad would always remain a source of inspiration for every Indian. He added that Azad’s ideals would continue to guide future generations by promoting the values of national service, self-respect and patriotism.

‘Azad inspiration torch rally’ begins

Following the tribute ceremony, CM Dr Yadav flagged off the ‘Azad Inspiration Torch Rally’ from Chandrashekhar Garden. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of public representatives, government officials, youngsters and citizens.

The torch rally proceeded towards Azad Kutia (Azad Smriti Mandir), where the Chief Minister again paid homage to the revolutionary by garlanding his statue.

During his visit to the memorial temple, CM Dr Yadav also explored the life history of Chandrashekhar Azad displayed there. He went through details related to Azad’s birth, childhood, contribution to India’s freedom struggle and his supreme sacrifice for the nation.

The Chief Minister said that Azad’s entire life represented an unmatched example of courage, self-respect and patriotism. He added that the revolutionary’s ideals would continue to motivate citizens, especially the youth, to work towards nation-building.

Azad’s sacrifice will always inspire future generations

CM Dr Yadav also visited the ‘Azad Katha’ exhibition, which showcases the revolutionary journey of Chandrashekhar Azad. He witnessed accounts of Azad’s involvement in revolutionary activities, the Kakori conspiracy case, the assassination of British police officer JP Saunders, his leadership role in the Hindustan Socialist Republican Army (HSRA) and his ultimate sacrifice for protecting the motherland.

The Chief Minister described Chandrashekhar Azad’s life as an unparalleled symbol of bravery, sacrifice, dignity and patriotism.

He said that the inspiring story of Azad’s struggle and martyrdom would continue to encourage generations to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation. Dr Yadav also urged youngsters to actively participate in nation-building and adopt the principles of great freedom fighters in their lives.

Patriotic spirit marks tribute programme

The event witnessed the presence of a large number of people, with the entire area resonating with patriotic songs and slogans. During the ‘Azad Inspiration Torch Rally’, participants raised slogans including ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Amar Rahein’.

The region was immersed in a spirit of patriotism as people participated in the torch rally with enthusiasm and devotion, paying heartfelt tributes to the legendary revolutionary.
