Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav sent a strong message of administrative accountability on Friday as he launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Jan Vishwas Abhiyan’ from Chhindwara and took swift action against officials over public complaints. During the grievance hearing, the Chief Minister ordered the immediate suspension of Chhindwara Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr Naresh Gunnaade, a tehsildar and a patwari.

The action came as part of the state government’s efforts to make the administration more responsive and ensure that citizens receive timely solutions to their problems. The Chief Minister, who personally listened to public grievances, stressed that negligence in public service delivery would not be tolerated.

Before launching the campaign, CM Dr Yadav inspected the Public Service Centre located at the Chhindwara Collectorate and reviewed the arrangements there. He also held discussions with entrepreneurs, public representatives and citizens at the collectorate office regarding regional development, industrial potential and future growth opportunities.

During the interaction, the Chief Minister addressed public concerns and directed officials to resolve issues promptly.

Launching the campaign, CM Dr Yadav said that under the ‘Jan Vishwas Abhiyan’, elected representatives would directly interact with people across the state. He added that suggestions received through public dialogue would help in framing future policies and development plans.

“The campaign will focus on dialogue, solutions and fulfilling the needs of citizens. The government will work on the basis of public feedback and ensure that people’s problems are addressed effectively,” he said.

Weekly public hearings to replace closed-door administration

CM Dr Yadav announced that every Friday would be observed as a ‘No Meeting Day’ in Madhya Pradesh, allowing officials to spend the day in the field and directly connect with citizens.

He said that public hearings would be organised every Friday from district headquarters to tehsil levels. Ministers, legislators, collectors and commissioners would remain present on the ground to listen to public issues and ensure their resolution.

Highlighting the four key pillars of the campaign, namely, dialogue, resolution, sensitivity and simplicity, the Chief Minister said the initiative would be implemented across Madhya Pradesh. He described it as a first-of-its-kind effort aimed at strengthening public trust in governance.

Push for natural farming

The Chief Minister said the state government was working towards planned development based on the local needs and work culture of different regions.

He highlighted initiatives to promote natural farming, animal husbandry and rural tourism, including encouraging homestay facilities to generate new employment opportunities at the local level.

CM Dr Yadav interacted with talented citizens of Chhindwara on these issues and said their valuable suggestions would be incorporated into future development plans.

He further stated that the Jan Vishwas Abhiyan would serve as a platform for speedy grievance redressal and ensuring that eligible citizens receive the benefits of various government welfare schemes without delays.
