Not suffering from Diabetes, Heart Disease: CM Dr Mohan Yadav Shares Time-Management Tips With State’s Youth
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav on Sunday urged young people to make time management, discipline, exercise and continuous learning an integral part of their lives, saying a well-planned routine can help them handle multiple responsibilities without unnecessary stress.
Addressing a ‘Yuva Samvad’ (Youth Dialogue) organised at a private university in Bhopal in the presence of revered saint Dadaguru Maharaj, Yadav responded to questions from students on health, education, careers, entrepreneurship and managing competing priorities. Dadaguru Maharaj also addressed the gathering.
‘Make a routine and avoid exam stress’
Responding to a question about maintaining his health despite a demanding schedule, CM Dr Yadav said effective time management allows people to complete their responsibilities with ease.
“Just as sleeping, eating and drinking are important, exercise and studying are equally important,” he said, adding that he makes time for yoga and exercise alongside his other commitments.
The chief minister said he does not have diabetes or heart disease and does not wear spectacles, attributing his fitness in part to maintaining discipline in his daily routine. He also advised students to study their syllabus consistently throughout the year rather than leaving preparation until examinations.
Youth should become job creators
Asked about his expectations from young people after declaring 2027 as the ‘Year of Youth’, CM Dr Yadav cited examples from Indian history, including Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh and Subhas Chandra Bose.
He said India is the world’s youngest major nation and possesses enormous potential. “Our youth should not become job seekers; they should become job creators,” he said.
CM Dr Yadav added that the state government was undertaking several initiatives for young people and expressed confidence that the next generation would fulfil the aspirations of their parents while taking Madhya Pradesh and India forward.
‘We must keep learning throughout life’
Responding to a student who asked how he manages several responsibilities simultaneously, Yadav stressed the importance of focus and time management.
He recalled that during his first year as a joint secretary, he was studying, contesting elections and managing a shop at the same time. He said he completed an MA in Political Science while serving as chairman of the Ujjain Development Authority, pursued an MBA when he became chairman of the Tourism Corporation and later completed a PhD.
He urged young people to continue learning throughout their lives.
Focus on industries and employment
On industrial development, CM Dr Yadav said the government was working to tap Madhya Pradesh’s potential across sectors, including mining and heavy industry. He said incentives were being offered to small industrial units, including concessions related to land, electricity, registration fees and interest.
For employment-generating industries, the government was prepared to provide ₹5,000 per worker per month for up to 10 years, he said.
CM Dr Yadav also highlighted opportunities for women, saying that while ‘Ladli Behna’ beneficiaries receive ₹1,500, women employed in industries could earn around ₹15,000, with the government and industry contributing towards their wages.
Madhya Pradesh as an investment destination
Furthermore, CM Dr Yadav said labour law reforms introduced under Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi were aimed at providing greater flexibility to workers and industries.
He said Madhya Pradesh was witnessing rapid industrial expansion and announced that the Global Investors Summit (GIS) would once again be held in Bhopal.
“Industry is not the path of those seeking employment, but of those creating employment,” Yadav said, adding that his government wanted to encourage young people to become entrepreneurs and industrialists.
