MP CM Dr Yadav Targets Congress Ahead of Datia Bypoll, Says Voters Have Rejected Party

The political battle over the upcoming Datia Assembly by-election in Madhya Pradesh has gathered momentum, with state’s Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav launching a sharp attack on the Congress while expressing confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will secure a convincing mandate. The Chief Minister asserted that the electorate stands firmly behind the BJP's development agenda and predicted another electoral setback for the opposition party.

Speaking on the political scenario ahead of the bypoll, CM Dr Yadav also questioned the Congress' position both nationally and within the state, claiming the party had steadily lost public confidence over the years.

'People across most of India have rejected Congress'

Taking aim at the Congress, the Chief Minister said that although the party continues to claim a significant national presence, the ground reality tells a different story. According to him, the people have rejected the Congress across a large part of the country.

CM Dr Yadav claimed that the Congress has virtually lost its influence over nearly 80 per cent of India's geographical expanse. He expressed confidence that the voters of Datia would also choose the path of development and cast their ballots in favour of the BJP during the by-election.

CM accuses Congress of losing focus on development

The Chief Minister further alleged that the Congress has drifted away from developmental issues and has failed to provide a clear direction for the country's progress.

He remarked that despite governing the nation for several decades, the Congress had failed to accelerate development and instead pushed the country backwards. CM Dr Yadav also claimed that the opposition party is now struggling to decide its own political direction, reflecting what he described as an absence of vision and leadership.

Opposition accused of divisive politics

Escalating his criticism, CM Dr Yadav accused the Congress of indulging in divisive politics rather than prioritising development. He alleged that the opposition seeks to polarise society instead of addressing issues concerning public welfare and economic growth.

According to the Chief Minister, voters have become increasingly aware of such political strategies and are now placing greater trust in governments that deliver stability and sustained development.

BJP has set new benchmarks, says CM

Highlighting the achievements of the BJP, CM Dr Yadav said the party has grown into the world's largest political organisation. He pointed to states such as Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, where the BJP has remained in power for an extended period, claiming that both states have witnessed significant developmental progress under its governance.

Expressing confidence in the outcome of the Datia bypoll, the Chief Minister said the people of the constituency firmly support the BJP. He added that a victory would pave the way for faster implementation of development projects and open a new chapter of growth for the region.
