CM Dr. Mohan Continues to Engage in Dialogue with Annadata, Government Committed to Providing Every Benefit to Farmers

Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is particularly sensitive towards the farmers of the state. The state government is committed to ensuring that farmers benefit from modern technology. As a result, along with providing information about modern technologies at the Balram Krishi Mahotsav, farmers are also being encouraged to adopt natural farming. Despite his busy schedule, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav makes it a point to interact with farmers. Whether engaged in busy schedules in New Delhi or other administrative responsibilities in districts of the state, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has interacted with farmers at the Balram Krishi Mahotsav held in every district.

It was on the initiative of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav that Balram Krishi Mahotsavs are being organized in districts to connect farmers with modern agricultural technology, natural farming, agricultural mechanization, and government schemes. The previous day, he held a virtual discussion with farmers from Shivpuri from New Delhi. Before this, he had participated virtually in the Balram Krishi Mahotsavs held at Ashoknagar, Guna, Vidisha, Raisen, Bhopal, Rajgarh, Sehore, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Ujjain, Khargone and other places. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav personally participated in the festival held in the tribal-dominated Alirajpur.

Farmers Have the Capacity to Fill the Bowl of Grain

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav believes that only when farmers are prosperous and happy will the entire society be filled with food and wealth. The role of a soldier on the border and a farmer in the field is equal; both are dedicated to the nation. As a result of this commitment, the state government is working in the interest of farmers with complete sensitivity and active participation. The entire year is being celebrated as the Year of Farmer Welfare. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav had said at the Balram Krishi Mahotsav in Ashok Nagar that the very meaning of a farmer is self-reliance; farmers alone have the capacity to fill the bowl of grain through their own efforts for the sustenance of their families and the entire society.

Farmers Taught Risk Management

On the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the Balram Krishi Mahotsav was initiated to increase farmers’ income, improve their standard of living, and ensure their overall welfare. At the district level, arrangements have been made for demonstrations of advanced agricultural technologies and direct interaction between farmers and subject experts. Information about new technologies and market-based agricultural models is also being provided to farmers at these events. Farmers are also being informed about digital agricultural services, weather-based farming, soil health management, drone technology, smart irrigation, advanced agricultural machinery, and modern agricultural management systems. Agricultural experts are also informing farmers about new farming methods suited to changing climatic conditions and measures for risk management.

Farmer ID: A Key Component of the Digital Agriculture Mission

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is also continuously encouraging farmers to create their Farmer ID. Farmer ID is a key component of the Digital Agriculture Mission launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Similar to an Aadhaar card, the Farmer ID serves as a reliable digital identity for farmers. This ID is linked to various farmer-related data, including land records, livestock ownership, crops sown, and benefits received. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is also alert to the impact of excessive use of chemical medicines on the health of farmers. The Chief Minister is continuously encouraging farmers to adopt natural farming. Natural farming is not merely a method of farming, but also a means of establishing a balance with nature. It is a way to increase production while protecting soil, water, and the environment. Natural farming increases the water-holding capacity of the soil. Crops can grow well even with less irrigation. In an era of climate change, it is a major campaign to save water for future generations. Natural farming provides relief to farmers from the rising costs of chemical farming. It makes farming profitable and sustainable. It reduces dependence on chemical fertilizers and pesticides. As production costs decrease, net income increases. It is particularly beneficial for small farmers. Natural farming reduces the harmful effects of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. In a toxin-free environment, both the fields and farmers remain safe. Only a healthy farmer can build a prosperous nation.
