Farmers’ Prosperity is Our Resolve: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the prosperity of farmers is the state government’s resolve. He emphasised the importance of taking up animal husbandry and dairy production and adopting new technologies alongside farming. Innovations by farmers and the establishment of agri-based industries are bringing about continuous changes in the sector. The Chief Minister said that although Mauganj is a newly formed district, it is developing rapidly due to its natural resources, cultural heritage and the hard work of its people. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said farmers would be provided 10 hours of electricity during the daytime in the coming period. The state government is making every possible effort to address the difficulties faced by farmers.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed these views while virtually addressing the Balram Krishi Mahotsav organised in Mauganj from the Mantralaya. He also extended greetings on Dol Gyaras to the farmers and the general public participating in the Mauganj programme. He virtually paid obeisance to Lord Bholenath at Dev Talab and Ashtabhuja Maharani.

Farmers Achieving Higher Production at Lower Cost through Natural Farming

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said farmers are moving towards higher production at lower costs through initiatives such as neem-coated urea, nano urea, high-quality seeds and natural farming. Farmers are also undertaking new experiments in horticulture. Innovation-based cultivation of strawberries, black potatoes, special varieties of watermelon and makhana is being encouraged. He said people particularly appreciate the taste of tomatoes and onions produced in Mauganj. Fisheries, animal husbandry and food processing are also playing an important role in increasing farmers’ incomes.

Sitapur-Hanumana Pressurised Micro-Irrigation Scheme to Expand Irrigation Facilities

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said work on the Sitapur-Hanumana Pressurised Micro-Irrigation Scheme is progressing rapidly. The project will provide irrigation facilities to 1.20 lakh hectares of land. He said Mauganj district has three major dams—Gaurama, Naina and Gada. Work is also progressing rapidly on the Nayi Garhi Pressurised Micro-Irrigation Project. The state government is continuously working towards strengthening agriculture in the district, ensuring farmers’ prosperity, promoting agriculture-based industries and creating employment and self-employment opportunities for youth within their own district.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav Interacts with Farmers

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav urged farmers to give priority to dairy production alongside farming. He said the Sanchi brand is being promoted in collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board. The Chief Minister urged farmers to take advantage of this initiative, increase milk production and enhance their incomes.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also virtually interacted with progressive farmers from Mauganj—Jasman Patel, Tulsiram Pandey,  Anita Mishra and Umashankar Tripathi—about their innovations in agriculture and other agriculture-related issues.
