A disturbing incident involving two Class 10 students has come to light in Jamui, Bihar, after videos allegedly showing a group of youths harassing a minor girl on a public road surfaced on social media. Police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation to identify those involved.

Students Stopped on Their Way Home

According to police and media reports, the incident took place on the evening of September 19 in the Jamui Sadar police station area. The girl and a Class 10 boy, both minors, were reportedly returning on a scooter after attending coaching classes.

The two had gone to Madwa Pahad before heading back when a group of youths allegedly stopped them on the road. The students were reportedly forced off the scooter and surrounded by the group.

Videos Show Alleged Harassment

Two videos of the incident later circulated on social media. In one, several youths can allegedly be seen surrounding the girl and questioning her about her identity and residence.

The footage reportedly shows the boy being separated from the girl while members of the group allegedly engage in inappropriate physical contact with her. Another portion of the video allegedly shows the girl being dragged, while people nearby appear to intervene.

Reports say the confrontation may have continued for around 20 minutes, although the videos circulating online are much shorter.

Police Register FIR

Jamui Police took cognisance of the videos after they spread online and traced the two minors. An FIR has been registered at Nagar police station, and investigators are working to identify the people seen in the footage.

Police said no accused had initially been named in the FIR and that the identities and individual roles of those involved were being established using the videos and other evidence. Authorities are also verifying the authenticity and circumstances of the footage.

The investigation remains underway, with police saying further action will follow based on the evidence collected.
