Tripura shocker: Minor girl on her way back home gang-raped; 6 including 4 juveniles held
Police in Tripura’s Gomati district on Sunday laid hands on two people, and detained four juveniles on charges of allegedly gang-raping a minor girl in a village, they said. According to police, the adult suspects were sent to judicial custody for 14 days, while the four other accused, who are minors, were sent to a juvenile home on Saturday.

Incident took place on Aug 1
Police officials aware of the incident said the harrowing crime unfolded on August 1, when the survivor girl (aged above 16 years) was heading towards her house alone, after her two friends had reached home. The accused, who were standing on the road, then allegedly took her forcibly to a forest, where they took turns to rape her.
However, the girl’s kin lodged a police complaint on August 14, following which the police sprung into action and arrested the two adult accused, while detaining four minors, who are aged between 16 and 17 years.
