Friends or butchers?: 2 Jharkhand men kill buddy, dismember body; dump severed remains in quarry, held
A gruesome murder incident transpired in Jharkhand’s Lohardaga district recently, where two men allegedly killed their friend, dismembered his body, and dumped his severed body parts at different locations in a bid to conceal the crime, police said on Thursday, adding that the accused duo was arrested.
According to police, the man who was murdered has been identified as Hussain Ansari (22), a resident of New Azad Basti. He was killed by his friends named Arman Khan (22) and MD Shahnwaj Ahmad (25), after a dispute broke out during an alcohol party. They were arrested after the police mounted a probe, which linked the accused to the crime.
Body parts recovered from abandoned quarry
The spine-chilling case came to light on Tuesday when police recovered a human head and two severed legs stuffed inside a sack from a water-filled, abandoned stone quarry in Oyna Yongri, falling under the jurisdiction of Sadar police station.
The cops established the victim’s identity by means of scientific and forensic examination, and later launched an intensive probe which ultimately led to the arrest of the accused.
Lohardaga’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Sadique Anwar Rizvi told the media on Thursday that the accused duo had admitted to killing their friend during interrogation.
Dispute during alcohol drinking session takes a gory turn
As per police, the accused told the investigating police personnel that the trio had gathered at Shahnwaj’s house in Durgabadi Lane on July 4, where they consumed alcohol together.

During this, a verbal spat broke out over an issue involving the victim. Police said the altercation spiralled into violence, and in a fit of rage, the two men allegedly assaulted Hussain, leading to his death.
The accused duo then dismembered Hussain’s body by means of a hexa blade, placing his severed head and both legs inside a sack and throwing it into the abandoned stone quarry. Meanwhile, the remaining body parts were scattered in nearby forested areas and bushes to hinder identification and delay the probe.
Cops recover blade, remaining mortal remains
Acting on the disclosure of the accused, cops recovered the remaining severed body parts from the locations indicated by them. They also seized the hexa blade allegedly used to dismember the body and the moped believed to have been used in transporting as well as disposing of the remains.
The accused were booked by the Sadar Police under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on a complaint lodged by Hussain’s father, Mikail Mir. They shall be produced before a court soon, as per police.
