The investigation into the alleged gang rape of a 17-year-old girl at Aastha Kunj Park in southeast Delhi has revealed that two of the three accused allegedly washed their clothes after returning home. Police are also examining deleted phone data and videos recovered from another accused’s device as part of the probe.

Clothes Allegedly Washed After Incident

According to police sources, accused Hemant and Mukesh allegedly returned home after the incident and washed their clothes, including their lower garments. Investigators are examining whether this was an attempt to remove possible forensic evidence from the clothing.

Search History And Data Deleted

Police also said the two accused allegedly deleted their search histories, photos and videos from their mobile phones. Their devices have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), where investigators are attempting to recover deleted data and establish their digital activities before and after the alleged assault.

Obscene Videos Found On Third Accused’s Phone

Police sources said several objectionable videos were recovered from the mobile phone of the third accused, identified as Asif. Investigators are examining the contents of the device and checking whether it contains any material connected to the current case or evidence of possible prior incidents.

Police Probe Possible Evidence Destruction

The alleged washing of clothes and deletion of digital data are being examined as possible attempts to destroy or remove evidence. Police are also reconstructing the accused's movements and communications around the time of the alleged crime.

Investigation Continues

All three accused have been arrested, and their phones are undergoing forensic examination. Police are continuing to investigate the alleged assault, the individual roles of the accused and whether the digital and physical evidence points to prior planning.
