The online satirical movement, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which claimed triumph after spearheading the NEET UG 2026 protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar by procuring Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, has announced plans on Monday for a nationwide listening tour. According to CJP, the objective of the tour is to engage with young people across India as it seeks to build on the momentum generated by its stirs against alleged irregularities in the NEET exam process. 

The CJP said it is now focusing on understanding the concerns and aspirations of young people before deciding its future direction. In a statement posted on ‘X,’ the outfit said it would hold a two-day strategy meeting in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Wednesday and Thursday to finalise its roadmap. CJP’s founder Abhijeet Dipke, along with party spokespersons and organisational leaders, will participate in the meeting. 

The party claimed the discussions follow numerous rounds of consultations with a diverse group of stakeholders, including approximately 50 volunteers who played a key role in organising the Jantar Mantar agitation. 

CJP plans to engage with country’s youth

As part of its proposed nationwide listening tour, the CJP said it would connect with volunteers and youngsters across different regions to understand their expectations, priorities and challenges.

The party said the initiative seeks to engage with a generation which has become ‘hopeful’ and optimistic following what it described as the success of its NEET campaign. The CJP claimed its movement culminated in the resignation of the then-Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. However, the claim remains part of the party’s own assessment of the movement’s impact.

CJP’s Chief spokesperson Saurav Das said, “The defeat of this arrogant government at the hands of the youth shows that when young people come together, they can achieve anything. Our team is working to put together the best possible path forward to channel the expectations of our youth into meaningful action." 

Future strategy to focus on organisational expansion

The party went on to inform that further details regarding the schedule and format of the nationwide listening tour would be announced in the coming days. 

The outreach programme is being viewed as a pivotal step in shaping the CJP’s organisational and political strategy as it attempts to expand its support base beyond the NEET agitation.
