With the new stretch added to the corridor, it now boasts of a distance of 71.56 kilometres, emerging as India’s first fully operational ‘Ring Metro.’

The metro stations along the route include Majlis Park, Burari, Jharoda Majra, Jagatpur-Wazirabad, Soorghat, Nanaksar-Sonia Vihar, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar and Maujpur-Babarpur. Apart from this, the corridor also features other engineering highlights, like a new bridge over the Yamuna River and a double-decker viaduct, which accommodates both a road flyover and a metro line.

The three new soon-to-be-built corridors include the Central Vista corridor from Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprastha, a Golden Line extension from Aerocity to Indira Gandhi Domestic Airport Terminal-1, and another Golden Line extension from Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj. Officials aware of the development expressed hopes about the corridors improving access to major cultural and government landmarks in central Delhi.
