2 college-going girls found dead inside temple’s bathroom in Surat; police suspect suicide, probe on

Gujarat girls’ suicide: Two college-going girls were found dead inside a restroom at Surat’s Swaninarayan Temple on Friday, the police reported on Saturday. As per police, preliminary probe reveals that the girls may have died by suicide, as a syringe and three bottles containing suspected poisonous drugs were recovered from the scene.

Girls left home on Friday, failed to return

The police claimed that the girls had left their respective homes for college on Friday morning, but did not return by noon. Their kin grew anxious and informed the police. The cops launched a search operation, and picked the trail from the last location of their cell phones.

The trail led them to the temple complex. When the cops arrived at the temple, they found the girls’ scooters parked inside the compound, raising the possibility of them being within the area.
