MP Govt sets up 24×7 control room for state’s residents stranded in Gulf as Middle East tensions mount

MP news: As the geopolitical tensions have mounted across the Middle East, following joint strikes on Iran by USA and Israel, the Madhya Pradesh government has plunged into action on Wednesday. Officials said that the state government has launched a round-the-clock control room for the residents of the state, who have been stranded in Gulf nations.

Facility set up at MP Bhavan in New Delhi

Officials aware of the development said that the facility has been laid at the Madhya Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi, which is aimed at providing assistance and timely support to the residents of the state affected by the rapidly evolving international crisis. 

State govt to coordinate with MEA

Notably, the state government will coordinate closely with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and other agencies concerned to ensure immediate assistance and propagate verified information for the stranded citizens.

MP Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav said that the state government stands firmly with the citizens of the state stranded in the Gulf Nations. He also urged the expatriates not to hesitate in getting in touch with the contact details mentioned above in case assistance is required. 

Strait of Hormuz Closure raises global concerns

It is noteworthy that the crisis deepened after Iran reportedly closed the Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery for global oil shipments. The move, which comes following retaliatory strikes and military actions involving the United States and Israel, has disrupted oil supply chains and has intensified regional instability.

State officials said the situation is being monitored closely, with coordination ongoing at both state and central levels to ensure the safety of Madhya Pradesh residents in Gulf nations.
