US-Iran conflict: Relieving news emerged for thousands of Indian nationals on Tuesday, who have been stranded across Gulf Nations amid tensions intensifying in the Middle East, following joint action on Iran by Israel and the United States. As the strikes prompted temporary closure of airspaces and flight suspensions, IndiGo has announced that it will operate 10 special flights from Jeddah to various Indian cities on March 3, 2026.
The announcement made by IndiGo is subject to airspace conditions and regulatory approvals.
IndiGo in touch with Indian Consulate in Jeddah: Civil Aviation Ministry
The Civil Aviation Ministry officials said on the development that the airline is in touch with the Indian Consulate in Jeddah, so that it can ensure the safe evacuation of the affected passengers. Meanwhile, the other airlines shuttling between India and Gulf countries are running limited services, keeping in view the prevailing security conditions.
AI express to resume services from Muscat
On the other hand, Air India Express has confirmed that it too will resume operations from Muscat from March 3, 2026 onwards. The flights will connect Musat to Indian cities like Delhi, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangaluru, Mumbai and Tiruchirappalli.
As per the airline’s statement, the first departure is scheduled at 10:25 am for Tiruchirappalli, and the passengers have been advised to keep a tab on the official website for latest updates.
Flights to other Gulf Nations stand suspended
The Indian airlines maintained that flight operations to Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE have been halted till March 3, 2026. The Indian Embassy in Doha has urged the citizens to adhere to the guidelines issued by the Qatari authorities and rely on credible information only. Residents of the country have been advised to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.
The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority said that the national airspace is closed, and operations at Hamad International Airport have been suspended until further notice. The fliers have been advised not to proceed to the airport and to remain in touch with their respective airlines for updates.
