“Victory is certain”: Actor-Politician Vijay posts for the first time after wife files for divorce

Vijay divorce news: Tamil actor-cum politician Vijay, in the thick of the mounting public attention over his personal life, made a post on social media, wishing the Class 12 exam-bound students of the state. The post comes days after his wife, Sangeetha Sornaligam, had filed a divorce petition at the Chengalpattu district court in Tamil Nadu, accusing him of cruelty and infidelity.

Actor posts message on official ‘X’ handle

On Monday, the Tamil film industry’s ‘Thalapathy’ took to X and extended best wishes to the students about to take their Class 12 examinations in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The post written in Tamil translated to, “Only good will happen. Victory is certain.” He further encouraged the students to pursue higher education with courage and confidence, and advised them to take the exams without fear or anxiety.

Notably, the TN HSE +2 exams have begun today, and will conclude on March 26, 2026. 

Sangeetha accuses Vijay of infidelity in divorce petition

The actor and Tamizha Vettri Kazhagham (TVK) chief’s post comes against the backdrop of the legal course taken by his wife, Sangeetha. The divorce petition filed by her at the Chengalpattu district court claimed that Vijay was romantically involved with another actress, and she discovered the illicit relationship in 2021.

She further alleged that Vijay had promised to end the relationship soon, but failed to do so, prompting the legal action. Sangeetha termed the experience as “deep emotional pain and mental suffering,” calling the situation a betrayal of marital trust.

Permanent alimony demanded

Sornalingam, daughter of an industrialist, has sought a decree of dissolution, along with permanent alimony in line with Vijay’s income and social standing.
