A CBSE official said that details regarding the number of students taking the exam for the second time will be released shortly. He said, “Admit cards for the Class 10 second board exams will be uploaded on CBSE’s official website soon.”

Only these students eligible to take second board exams

As per the CBSE’s two-board examination policy, only those students who took the main board exams are deemed eligible to appear for the second phase. Students will be able to opt to improve their scores in up to three subjects, including Maths, Science, Social Science and language subjects.

Notably, the system marks a significant shift in India’s school education framework, with the goal to reduce the pressure on students linked to one-time high-stakes examinations.
