TCS Nashik row: Another disturbing development has emerged on Thursday in the ongoing sexual harassment and religious coercion case at the Nashik unit of the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). One of the victims told the police that the passwords at the office were stored in ‘an obscene language.’

The woman made the claims before the State Women’s Commission (SCW), alleging sustained mental harassment and inappropriate conduct by a senior colleague identified as Raza Rafiq Memon, since her training period. She testified that Memon frequently summoned her to his cabin, engaged in obscene conversations with her and made remarks that hurt her religious sentiments.

The complainant further alleged that despite raising the issues with her manager, no action was taken in the case. She added that instead, the situation worsened, as two other accused, identified as Danish Sheikh and Tausif Attar, stalked her online, and also engaged in spreading rumours about her. Notably, Memon (35) has been taken into custody as part of the probe.
Case devolved into a row after false promises of marriage
The controversy surfaced when a woman accused Sheikh of establishing a physical relationship with her in 2022, allegedly promising to marry her later. The survivor later discovered that Sheikh was already married.
According to police reports, Sheikh’s sister, Nida Khan, also an employee at TCS, allegedly made derogatory remarks about the complainant woman’s faith and attempted to mount pressure on her for religious conversion. Khan has been on the run since long, and was recently denied anticipatory bail by a court in Nashik.

After the probe gained pace, seven more females who had fallen prey to the atrocities stepped forward, and lodged police complaints, laying bare the organised crime. The aforementioned incidents, as per sources, are said to have taken place between February 2022 and March 2026.
The police said a probe into the incident is still underway.
