Justice stands firm: Nashik Court rejects interim bail plea of Nida Khan, mastermind behind TCS religious conversion, harassment scandal

TCS Nida Khan denied bail: A sessions court in Nashik on Monday refused to grant interim bail to Nida Khan, an employee attached to the Nashik unit of the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and the alleged mastermind behind the religious conversion and sexual harassment case, which devolved into a row over the past few weeks.

Despite Khan’s legal team citing her pregnancy as a primary ground for pre-arrest relief, the court junked the plea, maintaining that she be treated as an accused.

TCS Nida Khan denied bail: Details of case against Khan

Khan (26), who is pursuing MBA in correspondence, had been employed at the Nashik-located BPO since December 2021. As per police, she is one of the eight persons accused of creating a predatory environment at the facility. She, according to police, played a pivotal role in orchestrating a campaign of religious conversion and the sexual harassment of the female recruits in the company. While seven accused have fallen into police dragnet, she is still at large.

Despite this, her family has maintained that she fell victim to workplace politics, and is wrongly being implicated in the case. Notably, TCS suspended her and all the co-accused, after the case came to light and kicked up a row.

10 complainants approached cops

The incident drew eyeballs after a 23-year-old woman employee filed a complaint with the police in connection with the incident, prompting nine other female victims to also step forward and opt for legal recourse. Their testimonies laid bare a toxic workplace culture, defined by sexual abuse and systemic religious conversion pressure, which was underway at the Nashik unit.

One of the female engineers narrated her ordeal, alleging a pattern of inappropriate physical contact and stalking by the accused team leaders under the garb of ‘training.’ The complainant added to the allegations, saying that the accused justified violence against women, specifically targeting the ones who did not adhere to certain religious dress codes, such as the Burqa.

Religious insults hurled too

Investigation carried out by the police covered a timeline from June 2025 to March 2026, during which the accused allegedly made objectionable remarks regarding the marital lives of their subordinates, and insulted their religious sentiments verbally. One victim said in her police deposition, “It wasn’t just workplace bullying; it was an assault on our identity.”

Meanwhile, the Nashik police have stepped up their efforts to trace and arrest Khan.
