IPL 2026 DC vs MI: Sameer Rizvi continued his sensational run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, as he delivered yet another match-winning performance, where Delhi Capitals trounced Mumbai Indians by six wickets to climb to the top of the points table. Chasing 163 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi opened up to a shaky start, losing KL Rahul for just one run, and Nitish Rana for a duck. However, Pathum Nissanka and Rizvi steadied the innings with a crucial 66-run partnership after the early collapse.

Rizvi turns the tide
Nissanka impressed with a fluent 44 off 30 deliveries, but it was Rizvi who seized control of the match. The 22-year-old accelerated dramatically after a cautious start, particularly targeting Corbin Bosch in the 11th over, smashing him for 20 runs with a mix of boundaries and towering sixes.
Coming in as an Impact player, Rizvi exhibited maturity and power, reinforcing his growing reputation as a dependable middle-order batter. His innings followed an unbeaten 88 in the previous match, proving his form is no mere flash in the pan. Rizvi eventually fell for a stunning 90, missing a century narrowly, as Bosch dismissed him with a full delivery, caught by Tilak Varma at long-off.
IPL 2026 DC vs MI: Mumbai post competitive total
Earlier, Mumbai Indians posted 162/6, a total that seemed competitive on a two-paced surface, Stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav anchored the innings with a composed half-century. Mukesh Kumar struck early blows, dismissing Ryan Rickelton and Tilak Varma to send MI reeling. However, a 53-run partnership between Rohit Sharma (35) and Suryakumar stabilised the innings before wickets fell frequently. Late cameos came in from Naman Dhir (28), Mitchell Santner (18*) and Bosch (11*) helped MI surpass the 160-mark.

DC on a roll
Despite a testing start, DC’s chase gained momentum as the pitch eased out under lights. Rizvi’s fearless strokeplay ensured the target was met comfortably. Notably, back-to-back victories have pushed Delhi Capitals as frontrunners this IPL, while MI are left to reassess after falling short despite a fighting total.
