In a recent interaction with a media outlet, Shankar revealed that he was initially in discussions to contribute to the film, and had even penned down its teaser. He, however, said that unresolved legal complications surrounding the project prompted him to withdraw. He clarified that while he is no longer associated with the film, he has not ruled out a return, provided that director Priyadarshan remains at the helm.

Priyadarshan’s packed schedule resulting in project’s delay

Shankar further shed light on Priyadarshan’s relentless work pace, underscoring that the filmmaker is currently juggling multiple projects, leaving little room to pause amid the ongoing turmoil. With several films already lined up, including collaborations with Malayalam movie icon Mohanlal, the director’s schedule appears tightly packed. According to Shankar, the timing of Hera Pheri 3 now depends heavily on how swiftly the legal issues are resolved.

Turbulence looms over cast, questions linger

Earlier, the film also faced casting-related turbulence, as actor Paresh Rawal briefly distanced himself from the project. He, however, reconciled later, even as rumours of a legal dispute with Akshay Kumar surfaced and were resolved later. Despite the aforementioned challenges, Priyadarshan has maintained there is no lasting discord among collaborators.
