UP brutal murder 2026: A barbaric incident unfolded publicly in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district on Saturday noon, which sent shockwaves across the region. A 25-year-old man, an ice-cream seller, was beheaded by a man following a verbal altercation. The accused then took the victim’s severed head to his house and began cooking his food, minutes after which the police laid hands on him and arrested him.

Incident transpires in Parsawal village
According to police, the grotesque incident transpired in the Parsawal village in Barabanki, where a man, identified as Bablu (25) had been selling ice-cream. While working on Saturday noon, he landed into a verbal altercation with one Shankar Yadav (5), a resident of the village.
As the altercation escalated, Yadav picked up a sickle and beheaded Bablu, while onlookers witnessed the incident in shock. Yadav then carried Balu’s severed head home in the same village, and began cooking his food.
UP brutal murder 2026: Cops find Yadav unbothered by the incident
The police were alerted about the incident by the villagers, and a team was constituted under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (SP) of Barabanki, Arpit Vijaywargiya. When the cops entered Yadav’s house, they found him cooking food, and Bablu’s severed head lying beside. According to police, Yadav was unbothered by the incident and appeared to be normal.
The police then arrested him, seized the sickle used in beheading Bablu and also recovered Bablu’s head from there.

Motive behind murder yet to be established
According to police, they have initiated a probe to ascertain the exact reason which prompted Yadav to hack Bablu to death. The police learnt that Bablu was the eldest of three siblings, and was the sole breadwinner of his family. He supported his household by engaging in manual labour and selling ice-cream. His wife and two young children are inconsolable after the tragedy befell, the police said. As per police, Bablu’s body has been sent for post-mortem, and further inquiries are underway.
