Kshipra River Ghat inspection: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav inspected the under-construction ghats along the Kshipra River in Ujjain on Thursday, emphasising that no shortfall would be tolerated in providing facilities to the devotees during Simhastha 2028 fair.
During his visit, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of new ghats being constructed between Shri Angareshwar temple and Shri Siddhvat. Notably, these ghats are being developed in preparation for the upcoming Simhastha 2028 fair, one of the largest religious gatherings in the country.

CM lays focus on infrastructure for pilgrims
CM Dr Yadav, during the inspection, directed the officials to ensure comprehensive arrangements for devotees visiting the ghats. He instructed them to establish facilities for changing clothes for devotees, across a stretch of approximately 200 metres, along with the construction of toilets at convenient locations. Additionally, he called for the development of ‘facility centres’ at intervals of around 200 metres across major ghats, ensuring easy access to essential amenities. He said, “Devotees should not face any types of inconvenience while visiting the ghats.”
Kshipra River Ghat inspection: Authorities directed to improve accessibility, connectivity
In order to streamline the movement of pilgrims, CM Dr Yadav also instructed the authorities to provide stairways or alternative access routes at intervals of approximately 500 metres around the ghats. He noted that this would make it easier for the devotees to reach the main bathing areas.
He then inspected the construction of a bridge between Shri Siddhvat and Shri Angareshwar Temple. Officials informed him that the bridge would step up connectivity between both the religious sites, offering an alternative route for visitors.

Wider ghats to provide space to devotees
The authorities told CM Dr Yadav that the bathing ghats are being designed with a width of around 5 metres, providing sufficient space for the movement and the seating of devotees. CM Dr Yadav then directed the officials to ensure adequate seating arrangements and other essential facilities at the ghats.
