Rajpal Yadav news: Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has described his recent stint in prison as a life-altering ordeal, placing it on par with a near-death experience. Notably, the actor was briefly lodged in the Tihar Jail, following a long-pending cheque bounce case. He has now said he feels ‘reborn’ and at peace.
Yadav was granted bail after he partially repaid dues in a Rs 9-crore case, a development which he said was made possible by overwhelming support from well-wishers and colleagues across the country.

Actor says life feels lighter now
Spilling the beans on his feelings during promotions for his upcoming film Bhooth Bangla, the actor appeared visibly relieved. He reflected on the past few weeks, saying life now feels lighter and filled with gratitude. He remarked, “Life is full of relief now,” while acknowledging the emotional and financial backing he received during his legal woes.
Yadav says he is overwhelmed by support
During this, he grew emotional while recalling how people from all walks of life rallied behind him. He attributed the support to his fans, colleagues and even strangers, who helped him navigate the crisis. “When people you have worked with for decades stand by you, it changes you,” he said, adding that collective prayers and contributions made him feel ‘a hundred years younger.’
Despite clearing a fraction of his dues, he joked that he now carries another debt; the one owed to the public. He said with a smile, “I feel indebted to the entire world, and I want to remain in that debt”.

Yadav further admitted that the experience during imprisonment profoundly changed him. He drew parallels with a childhood incident, where he nearly drowned in Ganga River, saying that the recent episode tested his resilience in a similar way.
“I’ve seen death up close. You have to fight to stay afloat,” he said, underlining his enduring spirit. The actor will next be seen in the Hindi horror film, Bhooh Bangla, sharing the screen with Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Wamiqa Gabbi and Tabu. The Priyadarshan directorial is set to release on April 10, 2026.
Towards the end, he said, “I want to live every moment in peace. Only then can I laugh, and make others laugh.”
