Bhopal Army Day Parade: Madhya Pradesh’s capital, Bhopal is set to witness a splendid display of military strength and patriotism in 2027, as it shall host the prestigious Army Day parade. State Chief Minister (CM) Dr Mohan Yadav made the announcement after Army General Upendra Dwivedi paid a courtesy visit to him at his official residence on Monday. The discussion focused on encouraging the youth of the state to pursue careers in the Armed Forces.

Parade to take place on Jan 15, 2027
The grand parade will take place in Bhopal on January 15, 2027, marking the Army Day with national-level celebrations in the state capital. Meanwhile, the Army Day festivities will kick off in Bhopal from January 9, 2027, and will feature a string of events aimed at showcasing India’s rich military heritage, as well as honouring its soldiers.
Bhopal Army Day Parade: These programmes to be staged on opening day
Programmes such as Shaurya Sandhya and military exhibitions shall be staged on the opening day. The citizens of the city will also get the opportunity to witness live demonstrations of advanced weaponry and combat techniques used by the Armed Forces. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to attend the main parade on January 15, 2027 as the chief guest.
CM Dr Yadav says inspiring youths the key agenda
Spilling the beans on the meeting, CM Dr Yadav said that the key agenda of the meeting was to motivate the youth to join the army. He added that a large number of youths from Madhya Pradesh aspire to serve the nation, and hosting such a national-level event would further instill a sense of patriotism and pride among students.

Traditionally, the Army Day Parade was held at Delhi’s Cariappa Parade Ground. However, under Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s vision, the event is now being organised in different states of the country.
Highlights of the event to be held in Bhopal
One of the key highlights of the event is expected to be an aerial display featuring fighter jets such as Mirage and Sukhoi aircraft over Bhopal’s iconic Upper Lake (Bhojtal). Along with the traditional march past, the parade will also showcase cutting-edge military technology, including ‘Dhanush’ artillery guns, ‘Bhishma tanks’ and newly-inducted drones as well as robotic systems, reflecting the evolving capabilities of the Indian Army.
